The right to communication is a basic right that has a great impact on a person's quality of life. The students of the Tana School need the assistance of supportive and alternative communication (i.e. any means of expression other than speech) to express and realize their desires, feelings, create contact, share experiences, choose, and more. Among the means of communication used: body language, voices, photographs and symbols alone or as part of communication boards. The communication therapists work with the students and the classroom teams with the aim of developing, enabling and expanding each student's means of communication, according to their abilities and preferences. Throughout the year, there is joint thinking and assessment with the classroom team on how to integrate the means of communication into the student's daily routine to allow them to participate actively throughout the day.
