Hydrotherapy is a unique therapeutic tool for children with special needs, combining physical, sensory and emotional benefits. In recent years, we have implemented a pilot program in which one class of children of their age went to hydrotherapy in a pool each week. The aquatic environment allows freedom of movement even for children with physical disabilities, by reducing body weight and supporting them in a natural way. In addition, water therapy helps reduce muscle tone, reduce pain and improve overall physical fitness. Water provides diverse sensory stimuli, which promote sensory regulation and improve body awareness. Furthermore, the experience in water is often perceived as relaxing and enjoyable, which contributes to improving children's self-image and self-confidence. Hydrotherapy also offers an opportunity for a normative experience, similar to a regular leisure activity, and provides children with moments of pleasure and success in a safe and supportive environment. Benefits of hydrotherapy for children with special needs: * Freedom of movement even for children with severe physical disabilities. * Lowering tone * Reducing pain * Sensory regulation * Soothing and enjoyable * Improving self-image and self-confidence * Physical fitness * Normative experience
